Content Lab: Speaker Audio Controls

Discover how to effectively manage speaker audio controls for optimal sound quality in your content creation projects.

Introduction

Speaker Audio Controls in Content Lab let you adjust the volume of individual speaker tracks in the editor. You can use these controls to balance uneven speaker levels and create a more professional-sounding final video, even when the original recording has inconsistent audio levels across participants. You can also mute a speaker track when needed.

Before you begin

Make sure you have opened the required video in the Content Lab editor. The audio controls appear in an Audio Mixer panel where each available track is listed separately, such as the original audio, individual speakers, and shared-screen audio. Use the following table to understand the track types shown in the Audio Mixer.

Track Description
Original Represents the base audio from the source video.
Shared Screen Represents audio associated with shared-screen content, such as presentation or system audio included in the recording.

Step-by-Step Guide to using Speaker Audio Controls

  1. Open the required video in the Content Lab editor.
  2. Open the Audio Mixer panel.
  1. Locate the track you want to adjust, such as an individual speaker or the shared-screen audio track.
  2. Drag the volume slider for that track to increase or decrease its level.
  3. Repeat the process for other tracks until the audio sounds balanced across participants.
  4. If needed, mute a speaker track to remove that speaker's audio from the output.

What happens when you mute a track

When you mute a speaker track, the mute setting applies to the full track. At this time, Content Lab does not support muting a speaker only for a specific portion of the video.

Best practices

  • Lower louder speaker tracks instead of increasing every quiet track when possible. This helps you create a more even listening experience.
  • Review shared-screen audio separately if your video includes presentation or system sound.
  • Preview the edited video before publishing to confirm the audio levels sound natural throughout the recording.
