Magic Link
A unique, secure URL that allows a specific user (such as a speaker or attendee) to join a Goldcast event without manually logging in. Clicking a magic link automatically authenticates the user and places them into the event (often directly into the backstage or onstage, depending on their role). For example, a presenter uses her magic link to enter the event backstage with one click, instead of using a username and password.
Manual Clip
A custom clip that you create yourself. You can create unlimited clips from your video using the editing tools (unlike AI clips which are generated in limited number). For example, you might manually define a clip by selecting a portion of the timeline or transcript.
Manual Redirection
An event mode where session transitions and start or end times are controlled manually by the host or speakers, rather than automatically by the platform.
MAP (Marketing Automation Platform)
Software that automates marketing actions and workflows, often used for email campaigns, lead nurturing, and tracking marketing engagement. In the Goldcast context, MAP refers to tools like Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot, or Eloqua which can be integrated with Goldcast to sync registration and attendee data. Goldcast documentation mentions syncing data to CRMs and MAPs – for example, pushing event attendee info to Marketo (a marketing automation platform).
Merge Tags
A placeholder text in Goldcast email templates that gets replaced with dynamic data when emails are sent. Merge tags let you personalize and customize emails with details like the attendee’s name, event title, date/time, unique join link, and so on. For instance, ##first_name
will insert the recipient’s first name, and ##date
will insert the event date/time. Example: In a reminder email, you might write “Hi ##first_name##, the event starts at ##date##.” When John Doe receives it, it will read “Hi John, the event starts at March 10, 2025 10:00 AM,” with all tags replaced by John’s actual information.
Multimedia Content
Pre-recorded videos, slides, polls, or screen shares that can be played or displayed on stage to complement live speaking.
Multi-session Event
An event that contains multiple sessions within its agenda, which may occur back-to-back on a single day or spread across multiple days. When you create a multi-session event, the agenda starts empty and you can schedule as many sessions as needed (keynotes, breakouts, and so on). Multi-session events are ideal for conferences, summits, or multi-day programs. Example: A user conference might be set up as a multi-session event with a keynote session in the morning, several breakout sessions in the afternoon, and networking Rooms in between. (By contrast, see Single-session Event.)
