Takeaways Tab

A summary of key points from your video, generated by AI. Content Lab produces one Takeaways draft for every video (see the Takeaways tab). This takeaway post highlights critical insights or bullet points. You can refine it or hit Generate Takeaways Post to extract a new set of takeaways.

Team

A Goldcast account grouping that manages events collectively. Teams can be assigned ownership of specific events.

Team Admin

A Team Admin is a user role in Goldcast with administrator privileges limited to a particular team workspace. A team admin can create, edit, and manage events, pages, series, and templates within their own team’s workspace (and can utilize organization-wide shared assets), but they cannot access content belonging to other teams. Example: The Sales department’s Goldcast account is set up as a separate team workspace – the Sales Ops manager is a Team Admin, so she can run and modify all Sales team events but cannot see the events in the Engineering team’s workspace.

Team-Level Integration

The capability to connect different external tool instances at the team scope within Goldcast. Team-Level Integration support means you can integrate multiple accounts of the same platform (for example, multiple HubSpot or Marketo accounts) into one Goldcast org, each assigned to a different team workspace. This allows departments to use their own marketing automation or CRM integrations without interfering with other teams’ data. Example: Using Team-Level Integration, our Marketing team and our Product team connected their respective HubSpot instances to Goldcast. Each team’s events sync to their own HubSpot workspace, enabling data to flow into the correct account for each department

Team Workspace

A Team Workspace in Goldcast is a segmented workspace within an organization’s account, dedicated to a specific department or group, to keep their events and data separate. Each team workspace has its own events, series, pages, templates, and user list, which only that team’s members (and org admins) can access. This setup lets multiple teams operate in Goldcast without interfering with each other’s content while still sharing common resources where needed. Example: In a single Goldcast organization, the Product team, Sales team, and Customer Success team each have their own team workspace – the Sales team workspace contains only sales event data and can only be accessed by the Sales team and the org admin.

Teleprompter or Prompter

A built-in tool that allows speakers to paste scripts or notes directly into Goldcast. The text scrolls during live or recorded sessions, reducing reliance on external notes and helping presenters stay on message.

Templates

Templates are preconfigured design presets that apply consistent branding elements, such as colors, captions, and layouts, to your clips. They help standardize video output and save time in customization.

Template Background

Custom image files (.jpeg, .png) uploaded into the Brand Kit to serve as design backdrops for video clips.

Templates Library

A centralized library in Goldcast where email templates are stored for reuse. This section contains standard and custom email templates (for invitations, reminders, thank-you notes, and so on) that can be used across events – including single events, series, and repeating events – to ensure consistent messaging. For example, an organizer can save a customized confirmation email in the Templates Library and then apply that template to multiple webinars in a series to maintain the same branding and wording.

Text Summaries

Concise, AI-generated descriptions of recordings, providing quick overviews for repurposing content into blogs, social posts, or documentation.

Ticker

A scrolling text banner that can be displayed at the bottom of the stage, typically used for announcements or reminders. Note: Layout changes don’t affect tickers.

Timeline Editor

The bottom panel timeline used for video editing. It allows you to play the video, scrub through footage, and set start/end points for clips. You can drag handles or select ranges in the timeline to fine-tune what portion of the video is included in a clip.

Tracks

Parallel content tracks in a multi-session event, allowing simultaneous sessions targeting different topics or audiences. For example, a conference might have two tracks – “Product Demo Track” and “Developer Track” – running sessions at the same time for different attendee interests. Goldcast supports creating multiple tracks in an event agenda (each track representing a sequence of sessions). Attendees can choose which track’s sessions to join. (Smart webinar events do not support multiple tracks since they are limited to one session at a time.)

Custom links generated in event setup for marketing campaigns, enabling organizers to track registration sources (for example, LinkedIn ads, email campaigns).

Traditional Stage Controls

The legacy version of Goldcast’s event control interface (prior to the enhanced stage controls update). Traditional stage controls provided the earlier set of tools for managing speakers, layouts, and media in events, and included a separated backstage area for presenters. As Goldcast evolved, the traditional controls were sunset (retired) effective July 1, 2024. After this date, users no longer have access to the old interface; all events use the new enhanced stage controls. The shift to enhanced controls aimed to improve the user experience for event producers and speakers.

Transcript

The automatically generated text version of a video’s audio track, used as the basis for summaries and for highlighting key moments.

Transcript-Based Clipping

An editing method where you create a clip by using the transcript text. In the Transcript tab, simply highlight the desired portion of text and click Create Clip to produce a video clip of that segment. The new clip will appear under the Clips menu, ready for further editing.

Trim Tool

An editing feature that allows users to cut unwanted parts of a video clip by adjusting start and end points.
